It does not take a lot of searching for one to find dozens of hot porn cam networks, and today My Free Cams is up for review. The site boasts a nice, active community of babes doing all kinds of things, while not being swamped with lots of free users who stick around just for the show. With about 1000 active web cam models around the clock, usually European girls, this is a good collection to check out as an alternative for already large and popular cam sites.
The sauciest girls from Europe, US and, from time to time, Asia can be seen doing their thing here. The models are mostly white from what I've seen, with occasional Latino action here and there.
Models are not divided by any tags other than location and HD/Standard webcam quality, which makes sorting through the content to see who's up online at the moment a bit of a chore.
From the moment you log in you're facing a large list of active webcams, usually something along the lines of 500-600 live cams, all sorted out in the form of small thumbnails. You can list the active girls from 20 per page up to 500 per page, letting you take a pick of who you want to keep you company.
The sound is muted by default, which is a good choice because some of the girls are not quiet at all, and it doesn't take private chat to get them going. In fact, this is one of the few porn cam networks where girls are happy to get their clothes off and get dirty even without sliding into the private mode - or maybe I was just lucky when browsing the cams and found several of them who forgot to turn on private mode. Nothing is too frisky for these girls and you can find squirters, anal babes, matures and teens alike showing their favorite kinks to the world.
Credit purchases are secure and swift, and as far as I've seen there haven't been any complains about the way My Free Cams portal is conducting their business, so I suppose the price tag is more than acceptable. Girls take tips in general chat room, and credits are slowly being reduced in the private chat.
Let's have a complain or two for the models, shall we. Some of them look like they're not really interested in what they're doing, and I've had a girl who I tipped well, leaving the channel for a few minutes then coming back start talking to me like we've just faced each other for the first time, with her asking for credits to see more. I was under the impression that cam to cam experience's thrill is the connection you can make with a live show girl, and these girls just don't seem to be too interested in that aspect. It may have been just my bad luck to have several such encounters, and I doubt My Free Cams admins can do anything about it as this is a con that is present on other portals as well, and maybe I just had a stroke of misfortune to find several girls like that.
The content part of the My Free Cams got passing grades, but features and navigation I feel could have been done a lot better. While there are some good design choices (I already mentioned that the cam sound is muted by default), some of the choices made while forming this network are not so good.
First of all, lack of tags for models mean that there's a lack of ways to filter through the cams. Just having several tags, like "blonde" "brunette" "anal" "shaved" "smoking" "mature" "teen" and a few more would have been enough for comfortable surfing through all of the 1000+ active cams at the time, but no, all you get is a big model list with small thumbnail that you can hover your mouse over so you can see just what is the girl up to from a recent live webcam screen grab. Not a great way to navigate around.
Another thing that stands out as a poor design choice is your personal menu at the right side of the screen. While it does have some interesting features, most of them are useless to a regular user, and the tab itself is not designed to look good at all, it's like something from a porn cam site decade or even two ago. For instance, I wanted to look at a model I liked again, but I couldn't remember her name. It took me some time to find "recently visited rooms" tab all the way down the list, below all kinds of less used features, and when I did try to use it I discovered that the list of rooms is not saved to my account, and it was lost since I refreshed the browser window. Some better design choices could have been made, and I hope My Free Cams will get to fixing the overall look and feel of their site at some point soon.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay on My Free Cams, even more so because I got some free credits to spend once I announced myself a reviewer. Some of the girls were not so nice, but some were really nice, so I spent quality time with them. The site features need some (ok, a lot) of working on and some of the options you may need are not really obvious but you have to dig through a clunky menu to get them, but the site still gets decent grades for what it offers.
