Flirt For Free, one of the oldest cam sites on the net, has had a redesign since we last reviewed it, so we thought it time to catch up and take a new look. Now easier to use, technically more adept and offering online chat with hot chicks from around the world (+ guys and Tgirls), it's bigger, better and comes with the offer of free credits when you sign-up. Models present themselves plus images, short videos and loads of info. But, you ask, is it really free? Read the full review to find out.
At Flirt For Free, you can find profiles and images of hundreds, even thousands, of amateur models from around the world. Some are what you might call professional models because they do well and make a living; others do it for fun, but with the site's categories and variety, you're bound to find someone to get to know, flirt with, chat with and get off with live on cam. Thanks to the new look, it's easy to sign-up, get credits, see what the costs will be, find out about the girl who takes your fancy and get chatting - and more.
Giving you exact numbers is difficult because models are on and offline all the time, but there were over 150 live girls when I was on the site, and these were active from a list of over 5,000 - including the Boys section and the Transgendered area. Plenty of new, fun and fresh models to meet there then. I'd say that between them they have thousands of images (some don't have the extra galleries and videos, but all have profiles and details) and then around 12,500 video clips to view as well.
The make-up of the models is varied, to say the least: European girls, girls with tattoos, teens, older ladies, couples, models into BDSM and kinky fun, amateurs and girls who would not look out of place in a porn studio shoot for a hardcore movie. There are 43 categories on the category page, and looking it right now, I can see that there are 667 models live and waiting. Some of them may be in more than one category though so I may find a few of the 34 'girls next door' also among the 43 listed European girls and in the 50 who are 'interactive.' The point is: there are loads of varied girls, and it's easy to filter the model content to find who you want.
As for the actual flirting, the chat and cam experience, you simply find your model and open her/his page. There you can see the streaming player running their private room - or a message if they are boked and live with someone else. Enter your text and start chatting. That's the free part. Some models do offer free shows and rely on your tips for their income, others charge whatever they want. So, click to Live Cams, hover your pointer, and a box appears for sample shots telling you a few details including cost. I am looking at 30, 60, 50, and up to 120 credits per minute, but at least you know before you start flirting. When you do, you have a screen and a simple text box with some interactive options built around it.
The playback quality was good, though I'd advise being on a strong connection, so you don't cut out halfway through a good session, and the Flash player frame rate was at 15 fps. The sound was fine too, and I had no technical issues.
There's no need to be nervous. I found the models that I checked out and introduced myself to were polite, very friendly and not over the top; I mean they weren't desperately trying to get me into a live show so I'd spend money. They seemed happy to chat first and put me at my ease, and then things became more intimate. That's how it should be as you want to feel relaxed, and I did.

In the Profiles area, that comes with a drop-down of various options, like Flirt of the month, you have a good search set-up for filtering and also sample shots to click where you then find pics and details about each model.
Bottom line on content: Flirt For Free is packed with all kinds of models willing to do all kinds of things, there are info and pics, videos and live chat, and yes, you can view a limited amount of free.
I've kind of covered some of the features above, as the site is so integrated that you need to know about the technical side before you view a live session or even a video. But there are more features to discover now, and the site has become much more interactive.
The cams are HD, there is some free chat, you can go Cam 2 Cam with models, receive notifications about them, the searching facilities are good, you can leave comments and rates, plus you can add models and vids etc. to a favourites area. The top menu is simple to understand, and you should have no navigation issues.
As soon as you've signed up (for free) and claimed your 120 credits, you are invited to top up your bank, and prices range from $10.00 for 90 credits to $500 for 5,500 credits - which works out about the same, so no discount for bulk buying. There are also monthly recurring memberships at $39.95 including 150 free credits, and $49.95 with 300 credits. You can't say that Flirt For Free is 100% free, not by any means, but prices work out very similar to other cam sites, and there are some offers and deals to consider. Just make sure you can afford the model you want to play with, and you know how much it's going to cost you.
You can flirt for free at Flirt For Free, but you can also end up spending a lot of money on one model whereas another asks very little, or even if you're lucky, nothing. It's up to you, but the site gives you fair warning about costs and lays everything out for you, so there are no misunderstandings.
