There aren't very many men who are famous and recognizable just from their work in porn, and Ed Powers is one of them. Ed has been in the business for decades now and is well known as the producer and star of the Dirty Debutantes series that has introduced some of the most well-known porn stars in their very first XXX scenes. Here at his official site, you can access hundreds of Ed's scenes from the various series he has put out over the years.
The Ed Powers website has been around in some form or another since approximately 1996, and I think the site has gone through a feud different incarnations since then. The materials here span at least a couple of decades and possibly even longer. On the day I visited the site in the summer of 2012, I found 872 video scenes and a much smaller photo section with around 44 galleries. The photo section rarely updates, but you can expect new materials in the video section 2 or three times per week.
Ed Powers most famous porn series is certainly Dirty Debutantes, but he's also well known for others including Bus Stop Tales, the Real Naturals, and Cockless. The collection is incredibly amateur in style, and while there is some variation with some lesbian scenes and some masturbation here and there, most of the catalog consists of very amateur hardcore scenes featuring newcomer babes and either Ed or a boyfriend or other amateur guy she's brought along with her. These are fairly "by the numbers" scenes that take place in motel rooms and other indoor bedroom-type settings. One of the most interesting aspect of the site is the chance to see amateurs who would later go on to become world famous porn stars in some of their very first scenes.
Since the materials here span a wide range of time, it's to be expected that the quality will vary. While some of the videos here can be downloaded at up to 640 x 480 pixels, 1800 kbps, the overall quality level is fairly low. Even the best looking flicks I downloaded scenes below average in terms of quality, unfortunately. A good portion of these flicks are from the 90s and are probably sourced from the original VHS recordings, and that always makes for very poor quality.
The members area here has a familiar layout that is common to many membership sites. You'll find a basic keyword search box and a drop-down menu of categories near the top of the page, and there's also an advanced search page where you can get really specific in your searches. A navigation menu near the top of the page provides access to the site's blog, update calendar, video and photo sections, and some bonus materials like erotic stories and third-party feeds.
Options for accessing the photo materials here are consistent with variable speed slideshows, thumbnail galleries, and ZIP file downloads available for each set. The exact options for accessing the videos can vary, but all of the flicks I viewed included at least a Flash streaming version and an MP4 version at a very small size, and some of them include additional quality levels in MP4 and/or WMV format.
Fans of Ed Powers long-running Dirty Debutantes series or his other series such as Bus Stop Tales will no doubt be excited to see so much of Ed's porn history available in a downloadable and streaming format here, but the site could definitely stand some improvement. I'd like to see a quality level bump overall and a little more consistency in the download options. Nevertheless, this is an excellent way to get access to a large amount of smut from one of the most recognizable porn guys around.
