Homegrown GFs is all about amateur girls, facials, creampies and hardcore sex. There's a home-produced ring to the videos, with amateur couples, real user submission style content and all kinds of clips and scenes on show too. When you access this site you also get access to the Homegrown Video network for other, similar, clips and pics so you are looking at a good value for money offer with this membership.
Because the title here is kind of non-specific, the site can use it as a catch-all for all kinds of content. It doesn't categorise the videos as such, but GF does tend to be taken as meaning amateur, self-shot, homemade style content. Some of this clearly isn't, with what look like studio produced scenes. But other clips are, so it really is a bit of a mixed bag of all kinds of stuff from all kinds of places.
I counted 477 videos when I was looking at the site and these are all presented in the same way. The list starts at the home page beneath the set of sample pics showing what is currently being watched, and below this is the very slow to load staff picks set of what they think you should watch. There are 24 sample pics per page and the pages take a long time to load up. When they do you see the images and a title, you can see how many views a clip has had and then there is the score per video as well. What are not shown are upload dates, but the most recent piece of video content had been added, according to its viewing page, in 2007. (Other sites in this network have some strange upload dates as well, some say 1970, others don't say anything so we really can't be sure what, if anything, is happening with updates.)
Movies are shown as streams in Flash at a standard kind of amateur rate and at 640 x 480 in size. Some videos are just about ok at full screen, others though are too small to take that size and so you have to watch them at the smaller size; that's what you have to expect with amateur footage. There are downloads as well and these were WMV at up to 2,000 kbps @ 640 x 480. Some of the more recent additions also had Mp4 files to download. The clips come with a description and some basic interactive functions. Runtimes vary from a few minutes up to full length scenes, and some start with an interview.
What The Homegrown network does is find amateur girls, and maybe guys as well, and interview them and then film them as they make their first porn flick. So this is kind of first-timer porn rather than true home-made; because of this the filming techniques tend to be better than the homemade style of one camera shot on one small camera, and yet the visual quality is often rough around the edges, to say the least.
But on the plus side, you get lots of variety with amateur girls, ordinary ladies and 18+ teens getting down to some hard cock sucking and then getting totally banged by some very impressive rods. There are creampies and facials, there's plenty of wild abandon and you want to keep your volume turned up, and the girls are a nice mix of white, black and Latina. So the site does well on that score.
It also has a photo area with 25 sets of varied pics. Images clicked up to 1,600 x 1,199 at times and were mainly screen caps; the quality was not great. There's some lesbian action in here, there's hardcore and some toy-play photos as well. Once more the quality might vary a bit and you're not always going to get decent images, but there are various numbers of pics per set, and all kind of action going on. It's not the largest photo collection and you get the impression that Homemade GFs is better suited to video viewing than photo collection.
Remember that you can also access the rest of the network with your access details; you will need to keep them handy in order to do so. This network area runs in a much better way, looks good, has better quality content and is the place you want to head to. It's like the company have left Homemade GFs to struggle while concentrating on is much better site. (That has over 2,700 videos.)
The main problems I had with this site were: The pages were so slow to load. They have this set of Being Watched clips at the top and then a set of Staff Picks beneath it and these really take too long to appear. It is not until they have appeared that the other sample shots appear and these also take a long time; it makes it a pain when you want to click back and forwards. There are places in the top menu where you can find the content arranged by Latest, Most viewed, and most Commented but you're reluctant to open these pages as you know they will take forever to appear. There are also ways or rearranging the content on the index pages you have opened though. And there is a page where the content is arranged by category, but each category is shown as text and an image holder, so that page looks dreadful.
At the very top of the main pages you find a link to your favourites area, and when you are viewing content you can add things to this. There are also chances for you to rate and comments on the content, and there is a Community area listed in the menu as well; a place where you can find other members and send messages. The members' area here has the basic interactive functions but it needs a design overhaul. It's too slow to load the pages, frustratingly so, and it looks tired. They could also do with checking their update dates as well.
There may well be some very hot stuff in Homegrown GFs but, to be honest, I was frustrated by the slow pages and the design that I didn't want to go exploring too deeply. I just knew I would have to wait a minute for the next page to load. I also thought that for studio made content the quality should have been a lot better. The site needs an overhaul quick, but what there is here is fine, as long as you don't want sparkling visuals.
