Here at Dark Thrills, the focus is on ebony women. They're often paired up with various races of performers including both men and women in lesbian and hardcore one-on-one and group scenes, but the sexy black babes are the common theme. The ebony models range from barely legal to perhaps even a few MILFs here and there. Some of these hot honeys were recognizable to me as well know black pornstars like Havana Ginger and Capri Styles, but a good portion of them seem to be amateurs or at least lesser-known models.
Dark Thrills offers a decently sized, but not huge, collection. There were over 185 photo galleries and 75 videos on the day I visited the site, and updates occur every other week or so. The majority of the growth comes in the form of photos. I couldn't help but notice that they often seem to split a single photo set into several smaller sets. One set had just nine photos and was obviously taken from the same gallery as the updates before and after it. This basically seems like a ploy to make it appear that there is more here than there really is, so I'd much rather see a full set added at once. In addition to the core video and photo collection here, you can also access a few dozen third-party feeds and 10 bonus sites.
The quality here is only about average or slightly below average. Videos are generally offered at a max size of 640x480 pixels with bitrates of between 1000 and 2000 kbps. Some look OK, but some have noticeable issues with blurriness and incorrect color balance. I came across quite a few grainy photo sets, though there are some nice looking pictures as well. Overall, while the quality here was nowhere near as bad as I've seen elsewhere, it really doesn't stand out either.
Dark Thrills has a nice, slick looking, mostly black tour which offers the chance to view some preview trailers and pictures, get an idea of the type of models you'll see, and take a peek at the bonus sites, but it doesn't offer much actual info about the size of the collection or the sizes and bitrates of the videos.
The members' area is simple to use but doesn't have a lot of advanced user features or options. The entrance page provides a menu which will take you to the photos, videos or feeds, and below that are several other links and tools including information on how to access the bonus sites and a search tool. Most of the page is filled with sections for the materials including the most recent additions, the top rated and most visited scenes, recently viewed scenes and any materials you've added to your favorites for the site. The search tool allows members to search the photos, videos, feeds, or all three, but doesn't always return the best results. It seems that they're based on the scene info for each release, and since many since have next to no info, they often simply do not show up when doing a search.
Viewing options here at Dark Thrills are passable, but could use some expansion. Photos are offered in basic thumbnail galleries for viewing within the site, and can also be downloaded in ZIP files. While both streaming and download are supported for the videos, only WMV format files are available, and only in full length. Some additional download options, clips, and perhaps a Flash video option for streaming would really spruce things up here.
I can't exactly say that Dark Thrills is a bad site. They offer sexy black babes as promised, updates come frequently, and much of the content doesn't look bad at all. Unfortunately, this puts Dark Thrills into a sort of middle-of-the-road category, and I'm just not sure that it's worthy of an above average price. You'll want to take a close look at the bonus package before you dropping any money here!
