Porn’s favourite couple, Francesca Le and Mark Wood, present us with their own brand of porn, plus a heap of other goodies at their ever-expanding site, Le Wood. Wood is what you get when you watch pornstars and newbies in hardcore anal, bareback, lesbian duos, and couples in great quality HD. These days, most memberships are streaming only, but there is a download option too. Since our last visit, the amount of content has risen, but the prices have stayed the same.
Le and Wood broke away from the mother ship, Evil Angel, some time ago, and have been making their own porn for several years. We have been to their site before and given it high praise for its raw naturalism, and we can do the same again this time. The site focuses on all kinds of hardcore, so doesn’t really have a niche other than ‘classic studio hard porn’, which is fine by us, and it presents us with a lot of known models and new starlets. Le and Wood are still behind the cameras and in the control room as far as we can see, and there’s been no stinting on quality or updates since our last visit.
It’s a case of what you see on the tour is what you get once you are inside, though be aware that you can only stream unless you take the 15-month membership. We’ll come back to that. First, take a look down the first page of videos, and you'll see what’s in store. Anal, full-on penetration, girls with toys, girls with girls, girls with boys and older guys, BJs, gaping and more girls. Classic USA porn with a sharp edge. Look closely, and you will see top names: Francesca Le herself, and with Cherie Deville in at least one scene, Brenna McKenna, and then some girls with no names but titles such as Tattooed Milf, and Redhead Milf. Not all models are the young-looking starlets, and that adds a nice touch of realism to the scenes without detracting from quality.
There are 1,557 movies now (on our last visit some months ago, there were 1,441), and of these, 234 are exclusive. These include behind-the-scenes shoots and others made independently of Evil Angel. Most of these scenes come with HD stream options, but not the older ones. There, with the real classics, you have viewing choices of 480p down to 240p, because some of this material dates back to the 1990s. However, come up to date with the latest update, and you have streaming resolutions from 2160p (4K) through 1080p and 720p, down to 360p, and if you opt for downloads, you should be able to expect the same choices. Movies run for various lengths of time, with 20 minutes being the average, and the streaming player lets you control viewing speed as well as sound.
Those are the scenes. There are then 321 full movies to explore, though some of the scenes may come from these full DVDs. Previously, there were only 305 full movies, so again, the site has a proven update track record. The DVDs and their scenes come from Le Wood exclusively, or from Evil Angel or NXT LeVL. Each studio has its own style, and each DVD comes with its component scenes to view in whatever order you want. On the downside, it looks like you have to pay extra for some of this, and scenes are set at $1.75, or $2.29 in some cases. Members can get a 10% discount on full DVD purchases, but it does feel like you’re promised one thing but then discover you have to pay for it.
There are galleries with videos, and these images are good quality and often collectable, even though they may be screencaps. I didn't find a dedicated digital gallery area in the menu, but the screenshot galleries held around 30 pics each. There’s also a model index to explore, with 847 girls (previously, 775), and of the 847, 13 are trans performers. The index gives you each girl’s basic stats and links to their videos.
You’ll find a detailed menu with several interesting items, but the main link you need is to the scene. When on the index pages, you're able to rearrange the layout, search with the various filters and tags, and the sample shots tell you when a scene is 4K HD. Upload dates are not shown here, but you will find the release date and other info on the viewing page, where you also find the images and links to models. Everything is well connected. Your other features include a link to the store for more buying options, a tags page and a category page, making searching and browsing very easy, and there are no technical problems.
Members can get involved by giving likes, there were no comments boxes, and there’s an account area where you can find all your viewing history, billing details, contact info and everything else you might need if you run into any problems.
When it comes to signing up, the monthly streaming-only deal comes in at $12.99, and that’s the price it has been for a while now. The three-month option stands at $49.99, streaming only, and there is a two-day trial for $4.99, though it may be limited, and you don't get DVD discounts with the trial. The unusual 15-month membership lets you stream and download, and that will cost you only $99.00, recurring. There are no additional charges unless you add an extra site when you fill in the sign-up form.
The standard monthly membership to Le Wood gives you 1,557 streaming videos with the option to pay for downloads, plus 321 full DVDs you must pay for, plus links to the store. There is a lot of good quality, classic studio porn here, with some variety and some top stars, plenty of HD and 4K HD streams, and lots of other side-attractions that may or may not be included. At the heart of it all, though, Le and Wood continue to show the world how good, hardcore porn should be made and presented.
