Low Art Films offers a collection of videos and accompanying photo sets taken from various DVD releases by porn studio Low Art. This collection features all of the sucking and sucking that you expect from a hardcore site but with a bit more of a dramatic and artistic flair to the scene. Stars dress in various kinky costumes and fetish wear and get nasty in alternative locations such as warehouses and soaking wet rooms covered with plastic sheeting. Sound strange? It is!
The collection here at Low Art Films currently consists of 47 video/photo combo scenes and it looks like one new update is added every week. This isn't exactly a huge collection, but members do get access to a bonus site Devil's Film Parody. I was actually a bit surprised to see that the rest of the network is not included here.
Whether or not you believe that the scenes featured here at Low Art Films actually qualify as art, it's hard to argue that they aren't considerably different than the vast majority of scenes on porn sites these days. You won't see the same old boring couch and bedroom settings over and over again, and the camera tends to linger on long, slow, sensual shots rather than staying stationary or jumping around as is common in gonzo flicks. Scenes feature jazzy, down tempo music and a touch of creative lighting flair, and the performers wear unusual makeup and hairstyles with various types of kinky clothing and costumes. Although the scenes don't typically have a plot per se, sometimes they do explore various themes. For example, one scene features a group of three sexy models dressed up as dolls who slowly come to life and begin to lick and suck one another. The sex featured here at Low Art Films includes hardcore one-on-one fucking, solo masturbation, lesbian licking, and even some group action here and there.
The videos here are advertised as being HD, and even though the quality is pretty high and the videos do look pretty nice I'm not so sure that the specs really match up to the claims. These flicks come at a max of 960 x 540 pixels for streaming and 720 x 400 pixels for download with bitrates in the 2000 kbps range. I'd like to see this quality bumped considerably if they want to remain true to their claims of HD videos, but I was able to view these in full screen without losing too much quality on my midsized computer monitor.
Although the tour pages for Low Art Films don't provide any stats about the size of the collection or the update status here, they do a pretty good job of previewing the type of materials you can expect to see inside. Potential members can access streaming video trailers and some preview images, but the "about" section doesn't seem to be working so I wasn't able to get any background on this collection.
The members area here is quite basic and doesn't offer a lot of advanced features. Videos are divided into sections like blow job, come shot, and Deep Throat, the disciple lacks a basic keyword search tool. On the upside, a model index is provided.
Flash streaming is provided for each Low Art Films video, and you can also choose to download the flicks in your choice of two different quality levels in WMV format. Some additional file format options would definitely be welcome here. Photo sets are offered for viewing in basic thumbnail galleries.
Low Art Films isn't exactly what I was imagining when I first arrived, but in the end I do think this is a pretty good hardcore collection that stands out from the crowd because of the attention paid to the visual aspects of the film and the unique filming style. Although these scenes originally released on DVD, I don't believe they are available in downloadable and streaming formats anywhere else but here. If the tour pages appeal to you, there's no reason not to give this one a shot.
