Here at HIP Comix, the HIP stands for heroines in peril. This unique website describes itself as offering "graphic novels for adults." Members get 3D model style artwork in comic book format of sexy heroines in skintight costumes getting captured, punished, and humiliated by male and female villains.
Most of the materials here are offered in a storyline or comic book style. These definitely go beyond just kinky images and are mostly all part of an in-depth storylines that continues week after week. You'll see the evil villains committing all sorts of devious deeds against these heroines. They get locked into cages, spanked, transformed into miniature versions of themselves, dumped into water, tied, teased, and so much more.
I have rarely spent as much time on a site as I did here at HIP Comix and come away with so little an idea of just how much they have to offer members. Instead of offering a proper members area, everything here is displayed in an old-school style gallery system that simply isn't sufficient for collection this size. I believe there are several dozen different stories with perhaps hundreds of different parts made up of tens of thousands of different images, but I was unwilling to spend an entire afternoon counting at the site certainly offers no easy way to get any kind of sense of the size of things at a glance. In any case, it looks like they update about 20 times per month, each time adding a piece of a story with 10 or 15 pages.
Quality here is good, and it's obvious that a lot of skill and time goes into producing these kinky heroine in peril images. Several different artists produce materials for the site, but things are generally done in a very similar style that reminds me of a 3D videogame. Images are crisp and clear and the newer releases are available at up to 1200 pixels on the long side.
HIP Comix offers a very plain looking to her with a free area that you can peruse to find out the kind of materials they have to offer. Unfortunately, the navigation for the two or isn't much better than that for the members area and I can easily see potential members missing out on the true details of what membership includes. Inside and out, the extremely poor design of the site holds it back.
The members' area here is a difficult to use mess that looks like something from 15 years ago. I have been inside literally thousands of members' areas and can generally get around them with my eyes closed, but it took me a significant amount of time browsing around here to even begin to get my bearings. The way the stories are divided up and displayed isn't explained very well and you pretty much just have to figure it out for yourself. Once you find the section they are all listed in it easy to move between them, but I wish things were a little more self-explanatory from the beginning. The keyword search tool available on the site seemed like it would be helpful, but it didn't return results even for things I was certain appeared on the site like specific story titles and parts. On top of all this, the stories that are no longer active, along with some image galleries that don't seem to be connected to stories at all, are listed together into massive archive sections that are even a bigger mess than the rest of the members' area.
It takes several clicks to get the full-sized version of each image, and there's no easy way to download all of the images that make up a story or part of a story. The only advanced viewing option the site offers at all is the ability to view the images as a slideshow.
It's a shame that a site with this much exclusive content put so little thought and care into the way these materials are displayed. Those who enjoy 3D artwork and seeing sexy heroines in peril will certainly enjoy the storylines and gorgeous artwork, but you'll need some patience to tackle this outdated, user-unfriendly members' area. That being said, I imagine that I cite this unique has many diehard fans who are perfectly happy to put up with an outdated members area.
