Playdad promises you the largest generation gap archive of images, a large set of dad themed video clips, personals, stories and chat. It's actually a very simple, you might almost say too simple, site with links to feeds for movies, galleries, a story library and all the other things the tour promises you. I wouldn't say it was exclusive content here and you may well come across things you have seen elsewhere, but it is a large collection and it's been up and running for a long time.
You are met, in the members area, buy a home page that contains a simple text link of all the areas you can now access, and there are 14 links here. Ill run briefly through each one so you can see what you get for your money:
Photo sets: There are over 560 galleries bringing you a collection of dads and their admirers in solo sets and hardcore ones too. It is a big mix of photo sizes, content, photography styles and guys, with not every dad being your typical one. It seems that dad can mean anyone from around 30 upwards, which I suppose is possible. Galleries are a simple affair and you open each image one at a time.
Visitors Galleries: There are 14 pages here with eight images per page. These are self-shot, amateur pics that members have sent in, so you've got genuine real dads here in their own homemade image content.
Chat comes next and this link opens a new window and the Playdad chat server. This is a Java run system and it eventually opens up ChatNet. I have to say, this was a very basic chat player and there was no one else there when I called in, I'm not really sure what the point of it was as it was in the same window as the main site, covering it up if you like, and was not related to anything but itself.
Full length movies. This link led me to 14 feed sites where the main themes were older guys I guess. Bear Meat and Chub Club probably coming closest to our theme, but others were simply general feed sites with all kinds of content from Asian guys to studs. You get a variety of quality and content in these feed sites (third-party ones that many an adult web site plugs into) and you get all kinds of video players in use.
His First Gay Experience came up next and this was a link to another feed site; a good one I grant you, but not necessarily related to the dad or the intergenerational theme. Ditto the next link, Gay Reality Feeds, which took me to another feed site with younger guys being the mains stars. I probably don't need to say that the link to the voyeur cams and live shows were simply to up-sell take a look and pay to join sites, which was a bit of a let down. But the next link took me to four bonus gallery and magazine feeds so I could look at some more general porn pics.
I did find that I had a gold membership to Gay Address though, when I clicked the next link and got directed over to this dating and hook up site. It was pretty basic, like everything here it had an old-fashioned feel to its design, but it was a neat way to spend a few minutes, looking around to see who I might hook up with.
Only four more areas to go now Bad Boiz; it took me a moment but this turned out to be a collection of galleries featuring younger guys. Big Cock Project was another big set of galleries with guys with large cocks or morphed cocks, and finally came the stories area with around 50 erotic tales; well written, easy enough to read and a good diversion from all the pics.
I found Playdad had a really old, amateurish look and feel to it. It's like the kind of site someone made up on Dreamweaver about ten years ago (I know it looks like that cos I did the same), and it's basically a collection of simple pages holding either simple thumbnail galleries or links to third party feed sites for streaming videos. There is chat involved but this is very simple, so as to be basic, and there isn't really a point to it. There is a dating site you can move around quite freely, but again this isn't the state of the art, Gaydar or Mand8 style set up that we are used to, and that we demand these days. Everything was just very well, basic and simple and this made the site feel unloved and rather tatty.
It was easy enough to use, there are always links back to your main home page and the content list, except when you are in one of the feed sites, in which case you back button out. But it could do with a big design overhaul.
There is no interactivity either; you are not told when something new is coming, or what was added and when, you cant search the vast archive of photos to find, for example, only dads over 50, or dads with twinks together, and so on. There is no way to get involved with rates or comments, and the only really interactive thing is the chat box. So, don't expect a 21st century whiz-o time here, just simple pages that are rather bland but easy to use.
Yes, Playdad has a large collection of galleries, they are not all on the age-gap theme as promised though, they are not exclusive and the quality varies. It's good for a couple of hours browsing and then you'll want to move on. You can move to the feed sites and hope you've not seen them before, you can go and chat to yourself in the chat area, or try a browse around the dating site, read the stores and check out the bonus galleries, But you're going to find it all rather old-fashioned.
