Disruptive Films is the brainchild of Bree Larson, and when it started, it began a new era in the world of gay porn movies. These aren’t your usual quickies, these are films with high-end production values, directed by top directors, and featuring only the sexiest looking men. There are far more scenes now than there were when we first reviewed the site, and there are far more bonuses too. This membership gets you into 79 channels of porn and over 12,900 videos.
A couple of years ago, we finished our review of Disruptive Films with this: “Disruptive Films will disrupt the standard gay porn world no end with its high-class, well thought out and crafted hardcore movies where the porn sits well within character-driven stories. With excellent acting, sex, filming, sound, music and set design, you are getting something high above the norm with this new and exciting membership site.” We then went on to say, give it time to grow… Well, it has grown now, and from the three movies of three years ago, we now have 160, and updates continue to pour in.
What hasn’t changed, it seems, is the standard of the movies or the standard of the models. We are still looking at what they call character-driven movies, or scenarios, reality scenes, if you like, ‘acting before the sex’ kind of setups, and they work fine. Among them, you find some with titles that say it all; ‘A Step-son Like Me,’ for example, we can see that’s going to be older/younger taboo. There are obvious ones such as, ‘Eat My Ass’, and less obvious ones such as, ‘Serendipity’, where you’ll have to read the description or look at the images to see what’s about to happen.
Whatever the scene, there’s always well-filmed and realistic sex. Hunky tops and smooth bottoms, or smooth tops and hairy bottoms, dads together, dads and jocks, amateur and ordinary looking men, fit gym studs, classic rancher types and 30-something gay guys together. The guys are always fit and usually well hung but there’s no one ‘type’ of model. There is a model index to search but it covers the entire network, and you can’t filter, but there’s no information there anyway, so it’s best to look at the sample shots and read the list names to see if there’s anyone you recognise. If not, just dive straight in.
When you do, you will find multiple stream and download options. The earliest movie, from 2012 starring Roman Todd, comes with the same eight options as the movie posted last week. The resolutions on offer range from 160p right up to 4K HD at 3,840 x 2,160 with 480p, 720p, and 1080p also in the mix. If you prefer to stream, you have the same choices. Movies run for around 30 to 45 minutes, and you have no worries when it comes to quality; lighting, sound, acting, playback, the actual porn, it’s all still first class. Most movies come with a collection of stills you can save them one at a time or in a zip file, and these, too, are good quality.
As mentioned, the other thing Disruptive Films has done since we first saw it is expand its collection of extras. It falls under the ASGMAX Network banner which includes Next Door Studios, and there are 79 channels of porn to explore. Some of these are exclusive to the network, while others are not. Among your bonus channels are sites like Active Duty, Pride Studios, Taboo Men, all the Next Door gay sites, Helix Studios, Icon Male and many others. Together, they add up to over 12,900 videos. There are also 9,768 photo galleries to explore, a model index with 4,570 guys, some of whom are exclusive, and you get something new at least five or six times per week.
Navigating around this large network is straightforward thanks to a host of tools. The left-hand menu leads you to the complete set of videos and photos, plus the models, and the channels page. It is from there that you find Disruptive Films, and any other site you want, so you can either see all 12,000 + videos in one set of pages, or filter them by site. You can filter and arrange them in other ways as well, and each one is shown with its upload dates. Side lists give you categories and channels too, so there’s another handy tool, and there’s also a search box.
The viewing pages for videos let you make comments and give rates, report issues and so on, and you can also make up your own set of favourites and your own themed playlists of favourites. There are good descriptions with movies, but not so with the models, and other technical information. I had no hassles with the site, though some pages did, at first, take a while to appear.
Accessing this network will cost you $14.95 for the first month and $29.95 thereafter. There is also a three-month offer fro $68.95 and an annual one at $99.95, which is the best long-term value. All memberships are recurring, including the two-day trial at $1.00 which comes back at $39.95 per month if no cancelled in time. There is also a cross sale to watch out for on the payment page.
It’s great to see disruptive films still going strong, updating and giving us more top-class porn with a variety of scenarios and hot guys. It’s always been excellent quality, and those standards are maintained. Movies are exclusive and 4K HD, there are loads of stream and download options, photos, and then access to 79 channels of porn and nearly 13,000 videos in total from a wide variety of sources. We said this site would disrupt gay porn and it has, but for the better.
