I got myself a bit confused when I was looking at Frat Fest. The tour claims that the site has the hottest content in the world, and the members area claims there are 3,987 videos, but the site actually only has nine that I can find, and the sister site, Dude Dare doesn't have that many either. The Bonus area is a large DVD theatre/feed site so that's probably it, but as for the hottest content? It's a group of guys doing frat-house stuff, with gay sex involved.
It looks to me as if the site is set up for bigger things, and we are in at the start of something potentially promising here. Upload dates are published with the content on individual viewing pages and I reckon the site had been up for one month when I saw it. The main page gives you nine sample shots, nine titles and runtimes, and you simply click one to get to the viewing page.
Viewing online is in a streaming Flash player that's set at a kind of mid-range quality. There was still some start and stop for me so I found the best thing was to start a movie running, then pause it so the buffer got ahead, and then let it play. There are download options with these scenes, some work, others don't. Some were clips, others were full scenes. It all needs a bit of a tidy up, but I found some scenes had links for MP4 and WMV files, at 3,000 and 1,500 kbps (the white lettering on a light grey background is very hard to see, the white lettering on white background is impossible to read), and other scenes, where a full scene download was offered, simply had text, for example 3GP 352 x 288 but in these cases only 1kb downloads occurred and the player was unable to render this file. I'm not too sure what the glitch was there, but I was able to stream every movie and download some.
When I was able to download, I found the WMV file to be at 2.9 Mbps @ 1,280 x 720 in size. Movies ran for between 17 and 30 minutes. It's all very laid back and natural, some of the guys are hot, and the movies have a real, amateur feel to them.
And I found hazings going on, initiations into a rather suburban looking frat house. We are asked to believe that these guys are new students and the older frat men are initiating them by playing strip games, and then picking the guys off one at a time to perform things like cleaning the kitchen, and then sucking cock. You want to be a part of this frat house? Then show some respect, suck this cock. Difficult dialogue even in the most adept of hands, made hard to swallow by some unbelievable acting.
Ok, so were into coming in here to find actors, were here to find some of the dirty happenings that the tour showed us. And while I am on that subject: whats with the chicken? That's just sick and I didn't see it in here; not that I wanted to. Another example of over-advertising? I didn't find the hottest content either. Far from it.
I didn't find the pictures either. There is a tab in the menu for Browse Pictures, but all that opened was a page showing the large sample images of both sites. This happened in Frat Fest, Dude Dare and the main area for both networked sites. While I was there I counted up 18 movies between both sites.
You should have gathered that, sadly, I had some technical issues with the site. It looks like it's got a good idea behind it but the design doesn't quite fit into place yet. There is a drop down list for the sites, so it's easy to switch between them, or you can select everything from both in one go. The top menu takes you to the videos and presumably to the pictures when there are some loaded. Viewing videos is simple, though some links did not work, and not all offered files could be downloaded. The links to the feed sites also work, with the DVD theatre opening within the sites design and the live cam site (up-sell, pay to fully join) opening in a new window.
There is a search box for the sites, and three buttons for the most popular categories, blondes, brunettes and petite which sounds far to straight-site for my liking. Again, when pressed, these lead only to the black page with the two sites screen caps on it. (Page: php?id=8, I think some technical attention needs to be paid.) You are also invited to rate videos, but I found this function wasn't working either.
I got the impression that the site was new but perhaps they should have tested it some more before making it live. Try it out by all means, but watch out for some technical aspects that have not quite bedded in yet.
Sexy frat boys are not a new concept, nor are hazing parties and initiations, and this new site has taken the bull by the horns to bring us something that claims to be better than it is. I know it is new, but it is in need of some technical support already, the movies are not that new or fresh, they are exclusive and there are various good viewing options available, though not all work yet. I just felt that the tour claims were way over the top for what you actually get, and so is the price.
