I have to be honest with you; I am not sure about Hung Boy Next Door. On the face of it, it looks good, it offers all kinds of hot stuff, with amateur guys, home-shot pics and videos. But when you start to look at the detail you find that it's not very big, it is pretty costly, it's not exclusive, there are no downloads, there are not many photos, you cant find the things advertised on the tour and there is nothing interactive or particularly interesting about it. OK, so if you like to collect homemade pics and self-shot porn clips then you might like some of the photos here and you may be able to get your Real Player or similar to download some of the streams, but I only found 137 clips and 50 individual images in this one site. There are 16 sites in the list but I am pretty sure that some of the content is shared between them, the home page for Hung Boy Next Door, for example, showed me images from Thug Boyfriends, another site in the list. I am also pretty sure that a lot of this content is simply taken from other sites on the web, so you may have seen some of these pics and clips before.
I was also pretty distressed by the sign up process even before I had logged in. I checked it out and found that there is a trial offer to take, which is fine, and then a monthly sign up, at $39.97, which is one of the highest priced memberships I've seen in a long time. Not only that but there is Special Bonus Content which comprises GayBFE and Boy Access (neither of which I have heard of in over seven years of reviewing gay sites) and not only that but you only have to pay $72.90 to access them. You get two and five days for free as your bonus by way of a pre-checked cross sale but then the full whack kicks in if you don't cancel in time. I hate these offers.
Meanwhile, back in the members' area of Gay Engage, which seems to be the name of the network we've joined (or is it Boy Network? I'm still not sure): I used the drop down list to find my Hung Boy Next Door content and found ten index pages of videos showing some very airbrushed images. There is all kinds of hardcore going on, solo guys jerking off, clips from full scenes made in a studio, interracial action, anal, blow jobs, the usual stuff, and some videos run for up to 20 minutes; the majority though are short clips.
Here's a tip for you. You can filter the movies down by site but if you start at the home page and simply use whats presented there you get the full collection from all of the 16 sites. That makes around 2,280 clips in total. You still only seem to get the same 50 photos no matter what site you are in, but the video count for the whole network is pretty good.
Quality varies, as always with these kinds of sites, and you might find some clips that have a real homemade look to them while others appear to be studio produced. You always get the same Flash stream tough and no choice of resolution. No downloads either so you have to stay a member to watch the content. I was able to jump through some of the videos. Though sometimes when I tried to do this I was thrown back to the start of the clip, and when I clicked the linked site title beneath the player I was booted out to the tour area and had to sign in again. A lot of the movies were ebony themed or interracial, there are some twink clips, and there are bears, straight guys amateur men and frat boys as well in the mix. The image quality for the gallery was varied as well.
And as for updates: there is a schedule across the top of your man pages which shows around three uploads per day.
Expect to find your pages peppered with a lot of advertisements when you are in the members' area. I had to check the main advert at the top as it looked like it was advertising another site, and you don't need to see that when you've just spent nearly $40.00 accessing this one. But I think it actually advertises the membership you've just bought, so really it's a bit pointless. There are also loads of pics of guys who are live now and you've got up-sell items in your menu as well; chat and cam sites for example. There is one bonus area and that is a large DVD feed so you can view some studio produced titles there if you want to.
Navigation is by way of the drop-down menu for the sites and then you can use the main menu for Videos and Photos; all the photos seem to be the same one gallery. Sample images are shown on numbered index pages, for videos, and these are easy to navigate. You will see runtimes and star ratings with each sample pic, but I still have no idea how you rate the clips. There are no interactive options, no add to favourites function and no place to leave comments. There's no model index and there is no information either.
In fact, apart from the videos, a few pics and lots of adverts there isn't really anything inside this members' area; it's very basic, it all works but then again, there isn't a lot of anything to actually work.
This site is one in a set of 13 sites that have various themes but which all show you non-exclusive clips and scenes from all over the web. There are very few images, the clips are not wonderful quality, though there are a lot of them and there are multiple updates each day. There are far too many adverts in the members' area and not enough interactive options and no information, there are two expensive cross-sales on the sign up page and the price is too high.
