It's not often that a gay porn site comes with a mythology and a social history, but then Growl Boys is no ordinary adult site. It's a land where men are satyrs intent on planting their seed into younger men to bring them into their mysterious world of shape-shifting. There, half-man-half-beasts track, find and love their younger pups. You are going to find expanded stories with excellent graphics and hardcore porn mixed. It is totally original and very high quality.
The problem with trying to describe Growl Boys to you is that you won't have seen anything like it before. The site does contain very well made hardcore bareback scenes between some very cute younger guys and studly older ones, but that's kind of not what it's about. Except it is. What it's mainly about is transporting us to a mythical world where man-beasts prowl and young pups have adventures while discovering passion, sexuality and an animalistic bond between man and boy. At least, that's what I get from it. The stories go deeper, of course, but I know you want to know if there's sex involved, and yes there is. In a way, that's what it's all about, but it's tied up in evolving storylines that are well thought out and addictive.
You're in for a treat, that's for sure, particularly if you like the fantasy and adventure genre, but then again, this isn't Lord Of The Rings or Twilight. Growl Boys exists in its own world of Prometheans and Thebans. There are 10 Prometheans, the younger guys mainly, and seven Thebans, the older studs, experienced daddies (to put it in standard porn terms), and the masters of their boys. The younger guys, and sometimes the older, are depicted with animal faces, or wear convincing prosthetics, giving them the appearance of woodland creatures, wolves, foxes and others, and the blend of artwork, video, storytelling and the overall look and feel of the content is Well, as I said, I've not seen anything liken it, and certainly nothing as inventive as this.
The thing is, though, it works. It's erotic (and pornographic) and has an atmosphere. The artwork is professionally created and well presented. You follow one of eight stories though chapters with text, stylish comic strips and videos that bring parts of the scenes to life. The eight stories have five to seven scenes/chapters each, each chapter coming with a video in four qualities. 1,920 x 1,080 HD, 720p, 960 x 540 and for mobiles, 640 x 360. These can be streamed online or downloaded with a click. They play in Mp4 though not in a traditional stream, run for around 20 minutes and are superb quality. The number of scenes per story may vary, but there are around 30 full scenes, and each one has a small gallery of choice images at 1,024 x 576 px. These appear to be good quality screenshots at that size, but there are many worth collecting, and they don't suffer from graininess.
Your Home page shows you what's new. It was 'A New World' chapter three when I was there, but without upload dates, it's hard to say how often you're going to find something new. This time last year there were only 20 videos, but now there are definitely more, so things are moving. The stories are contained in the Library where you open a chapter and then, unusually, scroll sideways to read the text, savour the artwork, and then click to run the video in situ, giving you a true multi-media experience. Not only does Growl Boys work well technically, but its content is also professionally created, and you can tell much thought and talent has gone into it.
But enough waxing lyrical, I've not told you about the men yet. Find them under the Library tab and then Prometheans or Thebans, and you may recognise some models, even behind their prosthetics or over-lay artwork. The younger guys tend to be 18 + twinks and jocks and are gorgeous, the older guys include some well-known faces, though here, given different names. 'Alex Satyr' (or Alex, a satyr) for example, can be found on other hot dad/boy sites, and I've definitely seen LeGrand Satyr before. The fun comes from trying to remember where, and then gets better when you click through what is a model index to find their stories and videos.
And just to add, the content is, of course, exclusive. It couldn't be anything else, and it's also very high quality. You've got good and simple viewing options, decent screencaps and images, and professionally drawn and written fantasy stories brought to life with real models, to bring you a totally new and highly charged hardcore experience.
There are only a couple of parts to the members' area, and things work differently to other sites. For a start, you read the stories and see their videos from left to right, as you would with a book so that fits perfectly. Then, you've got a whole background and history in the About page complete with marvellous drawings. There's no video list as such, that would be far too ordinary. Instead, you embark on a tale and follow it through chapter by chapter. If you're only there for the videos, then they are easy to find, stream, download and jerk off to, but you'd do well to read the entire adventure and get to know, love and want to fuck the characters.
You're also able to enter a Read View when working through the tales, and this is simply another way of online reading; text and images/video in left and right pages that you flick through as you would on, say, a Kindle. Videos are embedded in the story either way and play in a pop-up. There are none of the standard 'favourites', rates and comments, but a comments area/forum is planned, and is shown as 'coming soon.'
I know, it's a lot to take in, but then that's how it should be for such a unique site. Check the tour, and you'll get the feel of Growl Boys straight away. Then head to the signup pages, and you will find a special offer for Pride month ($17.95 for the first month), but also a reasonable price if you miss the offer, $27.95. Take the annual signup, and you're paying the equivalent of only $10.95 per month which for this level of creativity, is excellent. Be aware that price may vary slightly as mine showed in Euros.
Growl Boys is unique. Offering blended boys/creatures in fantasy stores that are creative, well-written and erotic, it also supplies us with videos. Prosthetics are used to turn 18 + twinks into the willing pups for older, hunky satyrs, and there are also fantastic artwork and great storytelling. We're not sure about updates, but there are 30 + exclusive videos from eight gripping tales and packed into an easy to handle site like no other.
