Boy Funk is a well advertised and well known site that features only 18 to 20 year old guys. There are solo videos, duo episodes and some group scenes to view on line or to download. Each one has a set of screen caps to take you through the action and a set of well taken still shots. The boys are young and cute, hung and horny and there are new guys being added regularly. You get some great search and sort options, the newer vids are very high quality and the site is a joy to view.
The first thing that attracted me to Boy Funk was the welcome message on the members home page. It was friendly and honest, well written and informative. AJ, Chip and their team sound like really open and friendly folk and this message, which appears only on the occasion of your first visit, got my viewing off to a good start. It did what a welcome message should do; it made me feel welcome. (Some sites dont bother with this kind of thing but I think its a great idea.)
So, on to the content. Boy Funk says it is only a small site but it does have 110 sets featuring some 70 models. The models are all in the 18 20 age range and each is as smooth and cute as you could ever hope a young guy to be. The basic set up of the site is such that you can view the content via the model index or via the sets. Lets do sets first:
Each one appears on the page with its title, four images from the movie and a cover shot of the DVD box, if that movie has been released as a DVD. Then you have the option to watch the video, view the gallery of screen caps, the stills, read a review where one exists or buy the DVD more about that later. I clicked on a video at random to test out the technical details for you and my media player opened immediately. The Boy Funk movies that were put on the site after 2/10/06 play at 1Mb in a 720 x 480 screen size, which is really good quality but demands a fast connection speed or a bit of a wait. The older ones play at 560 kbps and 480 x 360. They are good enough quality to enjoy and the site is working to upgrade these so eventually they will all be on the higher quality level. Meanwhile though you can still watch them at full screen without any break up or interference, the sound is clear and natural too.
The action vids I saw ran for around half an hour and the solo scenes were shorter. There were no view in clips function and no choice of speeds or qualities, simply click and view. Or and I discovered this by accident you can right click and save target as to download the videos, yippee! (File sizes from 40 to 180 Mbs.) I did notice that there were some links missing too some of the sets didnt come with a complete set of images in their write up on the index pages and some didnt have the links to vids or screen caps showing. I did try refreshing the page but got the same result. I dont know why this should be and it may only have been a temporary thing on some of the pages, the others were usually complete.
The screen caps are what you would expect: 720 x 480 shots taken from the video camera; a bit fuzzy at times and not great quality but thats what screen caps are. They appear in a left scrolling menu and you click one to see the larger image in the main part of your screen. The stills galleries work in the same way, click the thumbnail on the left list to get the full image, 800 x 1200. There were around 150 (at least) images in the sets and the quality is much better than the screen caps, these are the images you are going to want to keep.
To see the kind of sexy young 18 20 year olds that you are going to drool over, look at the model index. You have angelic looking blonde boys, sultry dark haired ones with come to bed eyes, cute redheads, boys with short hair, long hair, cut cocks, uncut cocks and all stops in between. Search the page of face pics until you find who you like (which will be just about all of them) and then click to see his details. On each boys own page you have his stats, his dick size etc. and the start of a biography. You also have links to his appearances on the details page so you can easily click over to his vids and pics.
Thats the content then: over 100 movies in (currently) two qualities, thousands of screen shots and some really good galleries oh and 70 to-die-for dudes with big cocks and smooth, willing asses. There are some other features to the site and well look at those now.
Search and sort, thats one of the best features of the site. Go to the browse by set link on the top menu and you have the content spread over ten pages in the default order of newest episode at the top, you can reverse this order if you want or you can search by model types. The drop down list includes, cut or uncut, top, bottom or versatile. You can further sort by what the movie features: solo, 2 way, group, indoor, outdoor, oral, anal, rimming and interviews. I tried a combination of newest to oldest, short hair, 2 way and came up with ten hot movies and photo sets to view so that all works just fine.
You get a set of sort options in the model index too where you can sort the boys by newest to oldest, and the other way around, age, name and dick size. (Nicholas came in first at nine inches by the way.) So you have a few ways to arrange your content should you wish to narrow down your search for that perfect combination.
As for other features of the site you have three more links on the top menu. The Pay Per View theatre link takes you to Doggone Video, a large collection of adult movies that you can view on line for a price. But its a good price, starting at $6.95 for thirty minutes and going up to $49.95 for ten and a half hours that gives you around two hours for free. There are a good set of search options here to help you wade through the hundreds of titles and you get good details about each movie. Back button out of that site and check the last of your features which is the Boy Funk customer support. This is a support page shared with some other sites and it has a list of general questions but also news on the sites from time to time. Youll need to login to submit a support ticket but there is a lost password retrieval function if that is your problem.
As for navigation the site is simple to use. They said it wasnt very big so there is not much chance of getting lost. The galleries all run in the same way with a left menu of small thumbnails that you scroll down and click from to get the larger images, but there are no forward and back buttons I guess you dont need them. A slideshow function would have been a nice touch. I did mention some missing images, there was no missing image message here, just gaps in the page showing the background so I cant be sure if the missing things were intentional or not. Perhaps the site was being worked on when I was there and there were only a few of these gaps. There were also, Im sorry to report, some errors with a few of the galleries, the page didnt display properly. This happened after I had been to the DVD store and back-buttoned my way out, could this be the problem? I closed the window and re-entered the site by logging in again. This time I came to a page of updates before I went to check the galleries and this time they were fine. So yes, the problem was that after the DVD store I had been logged out so theres a tip for you!
I loved the initial welcome message and the boys. The site has found some very good looking and fresh faced youths to appear in the hardcore and solo videos and they are some of the sexiest guys Ive seen for a while. I did have a few technical issues with missing pics and login but I was prepared to overlook these as the quality of everything else was just great. You have over 100 videos here and 70 sexy young boys to get excited about. If you like young guys then this is the place to be.
