Twink Festival is a collection: a collection of twink and other movies from all kinds of studios. It is presented in a kind of Tube-style way, with streams and downloads and thumbnail sample pics of each scene. It has regular updates, frequent even, and all kinds of guys, mainly young and smooth and twinky, though with others, jocks and the like too. It's not that easy to manage, but not expensive to join and you have a good choice of viewing options and downloads.
The site says 2,015 scene and who am I to doubt them? There are certainly loads, and I checked the updates to find a couple of new ones were being added each day, which is pretty impressive. What you see with the tour is what you see in the members' area, basically, though you will need to sign up to see more than the trailers, of course. But basically it all works in the same way.
There is no menu as such, not even a link to Home that I could find, but sample shots and a sort and search set-up. You start off with the most recent content, lots of thumbnail pics and notes to guide you, and you scroll down a little to find the lists of studios, series and so on which acts as your navigation. It was a bit confusing at first, but I expect you will soon get used to it.
Click a sample shot or title to find the viewing options for each video and there you get a good array of options. You can stream in a Flash player and at a high definition format in many cases, you are able to go full screen and choose a lower resolution version too. There are then mobile downloads for each scene and WMV files too.
As for the quality, well, that's going to depend on the studio and the age of the scene. There are those HD versions of scenes, and generally speaking the visual quality is fine here. The acting and performance quality is the bit that may vary. Having said that, I had a look around several scenes and found no problems with the guys or their action. It was manly hardcore, often with three or more guys, and there were plenty of duo scenes. But not all twink themed I have to say. It's not a 100% a twink festival here with the inclusions of some jocks and even guys that you might term hunks or studs. You get some Ranch Dudes and Studs Riding Cock in with your Twinky White Gay Boys and Raw Twinks. But mainly you are looking at 18 to 23 year old models here.
Going back to the search and sort lists; you are able to bring up a list of Series, obviously from some of the DVDs, and these will be handy if you happen to know them, or if you find one you like and want to watch more of the same. There are then the studio lists and I found many known names here and some lesser known studios. It's a long list and includes JT Video, Pat and Sam and Rainbow Media, alongside Vrg Gay and Historic Erotica (no results for that last one in the search box).
So, what do you have content-wise? Well, it looks like you've got over 2,000 scenes from a wide variety of producers, arranged in a site where you can sort and search your content and where you have very good viewing options. These scenes are a decent quality with various choices of resolution and they are mainly twink themed, but not all.
What really annoyed me here was the navigation. I found that I couldn't get home very easily, but then each page was more or less the same with the same array of search and sort options beneath whatever video I was viewing. But I found that messy. I tried to use the search box but could not enter my own keywords for some reason, and sometimes when I tried a studio I found no results.
It really wasn't very easy to move around Twink Festival and find what I wanted to see. A category list or a page of categories would be much easier. You feel like everything is thrown up in one place and you are left to click around and hope something falls into place.
I also clicked some downloads and the download happen not in a separate window but in the one I was in, so I was hanging around on the page waiting for an online download, a bit like some Mpeg files behave, but this was a WMV one, and there was no right click and save as function. I didn't find out much information about the scenes, where they were from and who was in them. There was no favourites area, I could rate scenes but I couldn't comment on them, and generally I found the site a pain to handle.
I like the variety of movies at Twink Festival even if they are not all twink films. And I like the content count. I didn't like the design or navigation and found the members area a bit hard to get used to. It was frustrating not to be able to use the search terms and keywords box fully, and I would like not know more about the scenes and the guys. All in all it's a big collection of other peoples work that's regularly updated and looked after, so you've got loads to see here.
